James thought he had time to figure out his finances until we asked, "what if?" This sparked a shift from taking it easy to planning-mode and gave him peace of mind for whatever life might throw his way.
My name is James Krueger. I'm a radiographer at the Mater Hospital.
There were certain aspects that I’d been quite relaxed about in regards to my finances, and that was made quite apparent to me—that I hadn't really thought too much about certain things I really should have.
Rachel and Kurt really brought to my attention: what if?
I was coasting along thinking everything would be fine, but then they sort of asked me, what if an accident happened and I was unable to work? Where would that leave me? Where would that leave my family?
So it was quite a helpful perspective to get.
Just security—just knowing that things can go wrong and I’ll be fine. Being able to take risks and know that I’ll be fine.
They were able to make me feel a lot more comfortable about that by setting the grounds for a good plan going forward—things I hadn’t really considered but will put me in a good position.
The insurances that they were able to set up for me—superannuation, as well as permanent disability and life insurance—really made me feel a lot safer in terms of the worst case scenario, which beforehand I wasn’t as well set up for as I am now after I met with Your Wealth Consultants.
I recommend it to anyone around my age bracket. I think when you’re in your 20s, the last thing you’re thinking about is death and what’s going to happen to your finances when you’re gone.
That’s not something you think about. That’s not a priority when you’re in your 20s.
I would recommend anyone I knew to go and get it sorted out, because I know I’m in a much better position after doing so.
I think anyone should consider it—do it as soon as possible. That’s the only regret I had from this experience: not doing it sooner.
I think the earlier you have a plan in motion, the better.
